DESCRIPTION

The Hawke Vantage HD 30 4-16x50 SFP IR Mil Pro II is built to deliver dependable performance across a wide range of shooting disciplines, combining strong optical clarity with practical long-range features at an impressive price point. Built on a 30mm monotube chassis, it offers a solid, durable platform that is shockproof, waterproof, fog proof and nitrogen purged, making it ready for demanding field use in all conditions.

At the heart of the scope is Hawke’s H2 optical system with 11-layer fully multi-coated lenses, designed to maximise light transmission for a bright, sharp image. The 4-16x magnification range gives you the flexibility to shoot confidently at both shorter and longer distances, while the 50mm objective lens helps maintain excellent image quality in lower light. A wide-angle field of view and generous 3.5 inch eye relief add to the scope’s all-round usability.

This model features the Mil Pro II (10x) illuminated glass reticle, offering accurate mil spacing at 10x magnification for straightforward holdovers, range finding and corrections. The reticle includes 1 Mil, 0.5 Mil and 0.25 Mil brackets, with half-mil markings extending to 10 Mil, giving you clear reference points when precision matters. Red and green illumination, controlled by a stepped rheostat, provides a crisp central aim point that remains highly visible in varying light conditions.

For adjustment, the scope is fitted with a Zero-Stop, exposed, resettable elevation turret and an exposed, locking, resettable windage turret, both with 0.1 MRAD click values. When used at 10x, the reticle and turret system work together perfectly, with every 10 clicks equalling 1 MRAD on the reticle for fast and intuitive correction. The side focus adjusts from 10 yards to infinity, allowing precise parallax correction across a wide range of shooting distances.

Practical handling is also a strong point, with a fast-focus ocular and a knurled Posi-Grip power selector fitted with a removable XL zoom throw lever for quick magnification changes, even when wearing gloves. Supplied with lens covers, lens cloth, CR2032 battery, hex key, instruction manual and throw lever, the Vantage HD 30 is a well-equipped optic backed by the reassurance of the Hawke No-Fault Lifetime Warranty.

This scope is well suited to a wide range of shooting disciplines, especially target shooting, vermin control and general rifle use where you want a good balance of magnification, clarity and practical turret adjustment.

Is this a first focal plane or second focal plane scope?
It is a second focal plane scope, often shortened to SFP. This means the reticle stays the same size as you change magnification.

What magnification range does it offer?
It has a 4-16x magnification range, giving you enough flexibility for closer work as well as longer-range shooting.

Does it have an illuminated reticle?
Yes, it features an illuminated glass reticle with both red and green illumination.

How many brightness settings does the illumination have?
It has 5 illumination levels, controlled by a stepped rheostat.

What reticle does it use?
It uses the Hawke Mil Pro II (10x) reticle, which is designed for accurate mil-based holdovers and range estimation when set to 10x magnification.

At what magnification is the reticle accurate for mil spacing?
The reticle is correctly scaled for mil use at 10x magnification.

Are the turrets suitable for dialling adjustments?
Yes, this model is designed for dialling. It has an exposed, resettable Zero-Stop elevation turret and an exposed, locking, resettable windage turret.

What does Zero-Stop mean?
Zero-Stop allows you to return quickly and reliably back to your original zero after making elevation adjustments.

Are the turret clicks matched to the reticle?

Yes, the windage turret is locking, which helps prevent accidental movement in the field.

Does it have side parallax adjustment?
Yes, it has side focus for parallax correction and image sharpening.

How close can it focus?
