The RCBS Turret Press is the sweet spot between a slow single-stage and a full-on progressive setup. It lets you leave multiple dies mounted and simply rotate the turret as you go, so you’re not constantly swapping tools every time you change steps. Built from heavy cast iron with smooth indexing, it’s solid, flexible, and ideal if you want faster loading without losing control or consistency.

DESCRIPTION

The RCBS Turret Press is designed for reloaders who value control, strength and flexibility without the complexity of automated systems. It allows you to work at your own pace, with the choice of single-stage or progressive operation, making it ideal for both precision loading and higher-volume production. In progressive mode, output can be increased from around 50 to up to 200 rounds per hour, while still maintaining hands-on control at every stage.

Built around a rugged cast iron frame with a heavy-duty toggle block and turret head, the press is engineered to minimise flex and ensure consistent results. A positive detent system on the turret head guarantees accurate alignment, while pre-set dies can be left in place to eliminate repeated teardown and setup. The turret handle doubles as a removal tool, allowing the turret head to be changed quickly and easily, with full turret swaps completed by removing a single bolt.

The turret head accepts standard 7/8"-14 threaded dies with no bushings or adapters required, enabling seamless compatibility with most reloading dies and accessories. Multiple turret heads can be set up for different calibres, allowing fast changeovers while preserving precise die settings. For optimal performance, RCBS recommends pairing the press with the optional Uniflow Powder Measure with Case Activated Linkage Kit (sold separately).

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION(S)

1. What is the RCBS Turret Press used for?
It’s a versatile reloading press that allows you to perform multiple reloading steps by rotating a turret with pre-set dies, improving speed over single-stage presses while maintaining good control.

2. Is it a single-stage or progressive press?
It can operate as both. You can use it like a single-stage press or run it in a semi-progressive style depending on how you set it up.

3. How fast is it compared to a single-stage press?
It can increase output significantly, with progressive-style use reaching roughly 50–200 rounds per hour depending on setup.

4. What makes the turret system useful?
The rotating turret allows multiple die sets to stay installed, so you can switch operations or calibres quickly without constant die changes.

5. Is the RCBS Turret Press strong enough for rifle calibres?
Yes, it has a heavy cast iron frame designed to handle both rifle and pistol cartridges with good rigidity.

6. Does the turret flex under load?
Like most turret presses, some flex can occur under heavy sizing, but it’s designed to keep alignment consistent during normal reloading use.

7. Can beginners use it easily?
Yes, it’s often recommended as a step up from a single-stage press because it’s still manual and controlled but much faster to use.

8. Does it support multiple calibres?
Yes, you can set up different turret heads for different calibres and swap them quickly using a single-bolt system.

9. Is it ambidextrous?
Yes, it’s designed so the handle and key controls can be configured for left- or right-handed use.

10. Why choose a turret press instead of a single-stage or progressive?
Because it balances speed and control—you get faster workflow than single-stage without the complexity and setup demands of a full progressive system.
